“Women Achieve is a fantastic initiative used to raise professional advancement of women in the workplace,” said Matthew E. Established in 2013, Women Achieve emphasizes seven key ideals, which direct companies towards establishing a supportive work environment for the professional advancement of women. These ideals include encouraging women to grow through training, shadowing, coaching, mentorship and internship programs, as well as promoting female candidates for new opportunities and supporting ‘rising stars’ into leadership positions. Women Achieve also encourages the induction of women to serve on boards of various organizations, and advocates the importance of fair remuneration for female employees.
“It has been an exciting year for Women Achieve in which we have managed to push the ideals of Women Achieve into the broader corporate consciousness. Our aim is to encourage more companies and institutions to become more aware of the importance of advancing women, and realize how that can positively impact their bottom lines,” said Sana Bagersh, Chair of AmCham Abu Dhabi’s Women in Business Committee, and CEO of BrandMoxie.
The evening celebrates women and includes a signing ceremony to welcome BrightPoint Women's Hospital as the latest signatory to the Women Achieve, inspirational words by Jules Lewis, Founder of Mountain High, live music by three locally based female performers from the Dream Players, and also a performance of the acclaimed theatre production Trojan Women by the The Resuscitation Theatre.
Participation in Women Achieve is open to entities of all sizes. Companies that are interested can elect to become signatories by contacting AmCham Abu Dhabi. Signatories of Women Achieve receive a certificate of acknowledgement from AmCham Abu Dhabi for their support and are eligible to use the Women Achieve seal on their communication collateral.
