June 19 - Beirut, Lebanon** – In response to the death of more than 550 pilgrims during this year's Hajj season, as temperatures reached 51.8°C in Mecca.

This tragic loss is a reminder of the need to work hand-by-hand urgently to combat the devastating impacts of climate change. Awwad added 'The solution is within our hands as Ummah, shifting away from fossil fuels, which are driving the climate crisis, and moving towards clean, renewable energy sources that protect our planet and prevent further tragedies.
