DP World's Cargoes Community Vessel Status Dashboard goes Live in Jeddah
NEW DASHBOARD PROVIDES REAL TIME VESSEL STATUS UPDATES TO INCREASE EFFICIENCY AND VISIBILITY OF SUPPLY CHAIN IN THE KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA
Dubai, UAE – 29 May 2023: CARGOES Community by DP World has launched a new dashboard for shipping lines at the company’s Jeddah terminal, bringing the customer experience fully digital. With this update, CARGOES Community System is now one of the most advanced port community systems available in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – allowing shipping lines to obtain real-time status updates of any registered vessel coming in or out of the terminal in a simple and cost-effective way. The CARGOES Community System includes container management features that allow users to check the status of their containers and update information related to detention, hold, and release.
Prior to this innovation, shipping lines had to reach out to terminal planning teams to obtain information on active vessels and understand work completion estimates. This manual process often leads to delays in planning the next set of activities and the onward journey for shipping lines. Now, cargo owners can login to the CARGOES Community system, inspect vessel details in real-time, export the data in visual charts and tables, and make adjustments to lines as needed. The new system can also send automated messages and real-time updates via SMS and email.
Commenting on the partnership, Mahmood AlBastaki, Chief Operating Officer, Digital Trade Solutions at DP World, said: “We are excited to bring this new dashboard to CARGOES Community in the Jeddah terminal. There is a need for greater supply chain visibility around the world, and we’re proud to deliver the most sophisticated system in the region. With this update, we are providing our customers with competitive business insights that were previously unattainable. Now, shipping lines that operate at Jeddah can quickly generate custom reports and gather years of operational data in a matter of minutes.”
Mohammed Al Shaikh, Chief Executive Officer, DP World Jeddah said: “The implementation of the new dashboard in the CARGOES Community System has been immensely beneficial to the shipping lines operating in our port. As we continue to leverage smart automation and digitalization, the future of ports is set to witness unprecedented improvements in various aspects, such as seamless connectivity, operational efficiency, streamlined yard utilization, improved quality of service, and cost optimizations.”
