
The Executive Committee of Ajman University's Board of Trustees Highlights the University's Achievements
Ajman, United Arab Emirates, November 23rd, 2021: The Executive Committee of Ajman University’s Board of Trustees held a meeting to highlight the recent achievements of the University. The meeting was chaired by Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Executive Committee, in the presence of H.E Abdulla Humaid Al Mazroei, Former UAE Minister of Justice; H.E Dr. Saeed Saif Al Matrooshi, Secretary-General of Ajman Executive Council and Dr. Karim Seghir, Chancellor of Ajman University (AU).
Dr. Karim highlighted AU phenomenal rise among the Top 30 institutions in the Arab world. The University has risen by 5 places since last year and incredible 31 places since 2018 in the QS Arab University Rankings 2022.
AU also earned the highest possible 5-star rating in Online Learning by QS, a clear indication of superior student engagement and learning experience despite the Covid-19 pandemic.
On the accreditations front, Ajman University recently received two new accreditations from the Ministry of Education in Oman, for its Bachelors of Arts programs in Mass Communications and Sociology & Community Service respectively.
The University has seen increasing interest from international students not only in the Gulf region, but also from other global regions, as evidenced from its international exchange programs. The University recently received students from Chinese, German, French and Moroccan nationalities in its inbound student exchange programs.
Demonstrating Ajman University’s commitment to contribute towards achieving UAE’s future vision, Dean of Student Services, Dr. Nahla Al Qasimi recently graduated from the UAE Government Leaders Program in the Executive Leaders Category.
Similarly, at the IEEE UAE Student Day, AU students received two key awards for Community Service and Communications & Electronics respectively.
Dr. Karim announced that Ajman University will host the UNESCO Art camp in March 2022 for ten days to facilitate, through art, the exchange of the values of peace and intercultural dialogue, values that UNESCO defends, in collaboration with other international institutions.
“I am proud of what Ajman University’s students, faculty and staff have recently achieved. Under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, Chairman of Ajman Executive Council, and Chairman of AU Board of Trustees, along with the addition of several new trustees, I am confident AU’s future will be as glorious as its history,” said Chancellor Seghir.
