Bridgestone partners with Egyptian National Olympic Committee to honour winners and participants of Tokyo Olympics

November 17th , 2021 - Bridgestone, a pioneer in sustainable mobility and advanced solutions, and one of the global partners of the Olympics and Paralympics, has felicitated the athletes who participated and won medals in Tokyo Olympics 2020, at an event held recently in Marriott Mena House, Cairo.

The event was organized to honour the athletes who showcased outstanding performance in the Tokyo Olympics, in line with Bridgestone's support to ENOC and ENPC's efforts in preparing athletes for the next edition of Olympics and Paralympics in Paris.

The ceremony was held in partnership with Bridgestone’s regional partner in Egypt, Nile Projects & Trading Co., Bridgestone’s exclusive distributor in Egypt for the past 30 years. The event was held in the presence of General Mohab Mamish, President’s Advisor  for seaports and projects at the Suez Canal area. , Egypt; Stefano Sanchini, Regional Managing Director of Bridgestone Middle East and Africa; Mr.Ousama El Naggar, Chairman of Nile Projects & Trading Co.; Mohamed El Naggar,Managing Director of Nile Projects & Trading Co. ; Eng.Hisham Hattab, President of Egyptian National Olympic Committee (ENOC); Dr. Hayat Khattab, President of Egyptian National Paralympic Committee (ENPC); and several other dignitaries. 

Speaking at the felicitation ceremony, Stefano Sanchini said: “Warmest congratulations to all the Egyptian athletes for their achievements in Tokyo Olympics and we extend our support and wishes to all the athletes preparing for the upcoming world championships and Paris Olympics. We believe in the ability of sports to bridge the gap and bring the world together.”

“Our position as a global partner for the Olympics and Paralympics and our commitment to society enables us to support people of different ages and abilities across the world to achieve their dreams. We remain committed to creating a positive legacy in the Olympics, and we will continue implementing initiatives to celebrate, inspire, and support athletes,” Sanchini added.

As the worldwide official partner of the Olympics and Paralympics, Bridgestone supports the activities of National Olympic Committees across the world and promotes the underlying principles of the Olympics Charter such as community service, social responsibility, respect for diversity, and environmental stewardship.

Besides providing financial support, as the official partner, Bridgestone and Nile Projects & Trading Co will provide state of the art equipment and training facilities. Bridgestone will also support initiatives and holistic approaches for good mental health and boosts the morale of Egyptian athletes preparing for Paris Olympics 2024.

The local initiatives will be devised as per their requirements. As an organization that is constantly evolving, these initiatives launched to support the Egyptian athletes are also in line with Bridgestone’s social commitment towards the country, which is one of the key markets of its products, and solutions.
