• AGMC welcomes the first semi-electric MINI model to the UAE with the introduction of the all-new MINI Countryman Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV)
• The biggest and most versatile member of the MINI model family, this vehicle generates fresh stimuli for driving pleasure and individual flair in the hallmark style of the British premium brand without any local CO2 emissions.

August 02, 2021:   AGMC, the official importer of BMW Group vehicles for Dubai, Sharjah, and the Northern Emirates, is thrilled to reveal the market launch of the all-new MINI Countryman Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) – the first semi-electric MINI model to grace the market.
The MINI Countryman PHEV pairs an electric motor with a traditional combustion engine allied to a precisely refined design. The model features attractive additions to its equipment range and updated, sustainable and innovative operational and networking technology – all of which underpin the exceptional status of the new MINI Countryman PHEV within the premium compact segment.
The robust vehicle concept provides ample versatile interior space with five fully-fledged seats and the optional ALL4 all-wheel drive system, making it not just the perfect companion in day-to-day traffic, but also through long-distance trips across unsurfaced and uncharted terrain.

The progressive character of the new MINI Countryman is reflected in this model variant, as well as in the newly added digital MINI Connected services. Additionally, a bespoke approach means a wide range of optional extras and Original MINI Accessories.

The launch of the current model generation offers drivers a significant optimisation in terms of space, versatility, functionality, and ride comfort. In addition, the MINI Countryman PHEV has become a pioneering force for locally emissions-free mobility in hallmark brand style. The vehicle combines ground-breaking efficiency and hybrid-specific all-wheel drive with the option of purely electrically powered driving pleasure.

Thanks to its unmistakable proportions, the new MINI Countryman PHEV is instantly recognisable as the brand’s largest model. The three-part structure of the vehicle body is unmistakeably MINI, further enhanced by the model-specific roof line. The car’s upright stature and increased ground clearance are suggestive of generous interior space, robust character, and inspiring driving characteristics – both on-road and off-road.

The interior of the new MINI Countryman PHEV also has increased appeal due to an extended range of standard equipment. It now includes a sports leather steering wheel in all model variants. In the new MINI Countryman PHEV, the front passenger can also adapt seat height as required - electrically adjustable seats are available as an option, including a memory function on the driver’s side.

The new MINI Countryman PHEV is also fitted with a hybrid-specific, all-wheel drive system as standard. It is provided by the precisely controlled interaction between a 3-cylinder petrol engine transmitting its power to the front wheels with an electric synchronous motor that acts on the rear wheels. Together, the two power units produce a system output of 162 kW/220 hp.

The latest eDrive technology available for BMW Group plug-in hybrid models also includes a high-voltage lithium-ion battery with a gross energy content of 9.6 kWh, giving the new MINI Countryman PHEV a maximum electrically powered range of 55 to 61 kilometres.

Ayhan Olcer, Chief Executive Officer, BMW AGMC, says, “It doesn’t get smarter or more high-tech than the new MINI Countryman PHEV. With the ability to drive up to 40kms in electric mode without producing any local CO2 emissions, MINI has changed the game when it comes to this vehicle. We are extremely excited to contribute to such advancements in sustainable driving in the region.”

“Recently we have seen the Government of Dubai taking further steps towards its Green Mobility Strategy, offering benefits such as free RTA parking and free Salik to all electric vehicles as well as an increase of electric charging stations around the emirates. We at AGMC believe that these are great initiatives, and we are thrilled to be taking part in progressing towards a greener and more sustainable future.”
