Expo Centre Sharjah Delays Watch & Jewellery Middle East Show (WJMES) to April 2021

Sharjah, September 12, 2020:   The Board of Directors of the Expo Centre Sharjah has announced that the 48th and 49th editions of the Watch & Jewellery Middle East Show (WJMES), which was expected to kick off later this month, has been postponed to April 2021.

The Centre explained that the decision was made after extensive consultations with the competent authorities and the participating countries, as part of the Centre’s keenness on the health and safety of exhibitors, visitors, and staff, owing to the current global developments of Covid-19 pandemic.
The Centre added: “The early announcement of WJMES new date will enable industry leaders to set their plans in advance, so as to cope with the position and reputation of the largest event of its kind in the region.”


This would also help enhance the efforts exerted to boost the watch and jewellery industry in the region post-Covid-19 pandemic and keep the same successes the exhibition has had in previous years.


The Expo Centre emphasised that the contracts signed with the exhibitors and participating companies are valid for the upcoming editions, noting that the new date won't encounter by the current global travel restrictions, making it a perfect chance for exhibitors to once again meet with their existing and new customers and an opportunity for businessmen and dealers to conclude deals and establish new partnerships.


“We are looking forward to welcoming the participants and delegations from all over the world to the new edition of WJMES which will have the same success of the previous years, while the exhibition staff will keep an eye on the updates of exhibitions industry globally to make use of the world's best experiences and practices,”


The Centre underlined that the conditions will remain under evaluation while updating the guidelines and instructions regularly in accordance with the new developments in the global arena.


Over the course of 27 years, the Watch & Jewellery Middle East Show (WJMES), which is organized and hosted by the Expo Centre with the support of the SCCI, has reinforced its outstanding position and reputation as a pioneering and reliable platform for the most creative trends in watches and jewellery from around the globe. WJMES brings together the leaders of this industry from various countries of the world, making it one of the most prominent economic activities in Sharjah.
