Dubai - United Arab Emirates, August 11, 2020:  Celebrating the women of today, Fall/Winter 2020 trends welcome contrast; with top trends ranging from punk, to preppy, and colour palettes of nudes and neon.

The initiative ‘Italian fashion towards Dubai’, introduces 14 fashion brands from Emilia-Romagna to showcase their renowned craftsmanship, and highlight their unique interpretations of the key trends for Fall/Winter 2020.

TREND: Capes
BRAND: Rosanna Pellegrini
INFO:
For those wishing to stay modern while firmly classic, the return of the cape is the answer, a chic (and comfortable) complement to both casual looks and eveningwear.

TREND: Shearling
BRAND: Roncarati
INFO: Never straying far from the failsafe winter trend, this season sheepskin underwent a more natural regeneration, with energetic, urban and sporty versions seen on the runways; preppy at Celine, Seventies-style at Chloé and fit for the adventurer at Isabel Marant.

TREND: Glam
BRAND: Pinko,  Orequo and Leonori
INFO: This is all about the Bright Young Things, those swinging-from-the-chandeliers debutantes from the 1920s and 1930s, seen through the prism of the 1970s.
From slinky slips to sequin frocks, this is high-shine hedonism with a curve-caressing bias cut or kick-flip hem. This is XL glamour.
The Look: Shine bright in silk, satin and sequinned dresses and skirts that fall to the ankle. Dip your toe into the trend with costume jewellery in the form of statement earrings with a matching necklace.

TREND: Bourgeois
BRAND: Pinko
INFO: After seasons of more conceptual fashion, a return to a style code with elegance at its core is shaped the capsules on the runway at Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2019-2020. Think late 1970s and early 1980s bourgeois, refined silhouettes with skirt-cum-culottes, blazers, sharply pleated trousers, tailoring and trench coats…the key is creating coherent looks with precise cuts.

TREND: Fur
BRAND: Pinko
INFO: Faux -fur is more than just a trend – it’s prominence on the runways is symptomatic of the fashion world’s growing environmental awareness. What’s more, the shows at Fall/Winter 2019-2020 proved its versatility, with the kitschy glam-satire of the Moschino show and a more natural, arty look at Stella McCartney.

TREND: Red
BRAND: Modaf, A&A and Gil Santucci
INFO: Although the presence of tonal black was undeniable, angry red also had a place in the AW20 collections. Whether in lace at Bottega, ruffles at Ferretti or sequins at Christopher Kane, the colour packed a punch from city to city. Valentino slipped its characteristic red into its otherwise toned-down collection, Saint Laurent said it with vinyl, Molly Goddard made it work in her trademark tulle and McQueen injected the hue into its Welsh-inspired collection.

TREND: Black
BRAND: Labam and A&A
INFO: If last season was a total whiteout, where a number of key designers chose to show head-to-toe white, then come autumn, it’s back to black. Valentino, Balenciaga, Givenchy, Victoria Beckham, Off-White and Dolce & Gabbana all opened their shows with strong black silhouettes, while Chanel, Jil Sander, Ralph & Russo, Rochas, Kenzo, Lanvin and Brandon Maxwell championed tonal black throughout their collections.
A sombre comment on the state of things or a trend-free approach to elegant dressing for women in the real world? Either way, black is the new black – and it’s time to wear it top to toe.

TREND: Sustainable
BRAND: Free – Volo
INFO:
Developing circular systems to reduce the generation of textile waste. The materials used come from leftover fabrics, and combined with the precious and creative work of the women, unique upcycled pieces come to life. Upcycling is always possible, even after wearing a garment for a long time, to a point of destruction. The possibilities with upcycling are endless.

TREND: Knitwear
BRAND: Susy Mix
INFO:
From the trends of the new season that see alternating sweaters of all kinds, oversize and turtlenecks with a touch of vintage and handmade, ideal for every moment of the day. The sensuality of knitted dresses mixes with the rigor of high-necked vests to be worn over shirts. Hyper-enveloping scarves, soft collars and more complete the look.

TREND: Lingerie
BRAND: C.Alla
INFO:
Lingerie is not just reserved for the nighttime. By day, pair a retro-vintage silhouette with lace and baby-doll detailing.
