The Dubai-owned Godolphin stable kept shinning as it emerged victorious for the fourth time this season in a sensational manner. Trekking torpedoed home to prevail in the Group 1 Goodwood that was held at Morphettville Racecourse in the city of Sydney, Australia.

Horseman John Allen rode Godolphin on behalf of Australian handler James Cummings as the Darley-bred son of Lonhro demonstrated battling attributes on the horse tracks to fight off Gytrash and win by a narrow margin.

The third position went to Lyre, who was ridden by jockey Zac Spain. Lyre was Godolphin's second runner in the 1200-meter race, which is among the top races usually held in the Sydney Autumn Carnival.

At the 200 meter mark, Gytrash was at the front but could not keep off Trekking ridden by Allan. Throughout this duel, Trekking maintained a positive and self-assured race. It was the second time Trekking tasted triumph in the Group 1 race. He had earlier been the victor in the Stradbroke Handicap in Brisbane last year.

The win saw Godolphin register the 211th win of the interrupted season. Godolphin is a creation of HisHighness Sheikh Mohannad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE in 1992. Godolphin battles in all the top-rated races around the world.

Cummings followed in the footsteps of his father Bart and great-grandfather Jim on the Goodwood roll of honor the moment Trekking nicked his 11th victory in 29 starts.

Allen intimated to racing.com that it was his first time riding him, and he was astonished at how small he was. Despite his small size, Allen said that Trekking was sturdy and had an excellent run to fight off stiff competition from Gytrash, the runner-up.

According to Allen, when the race began, he believed they would catch up with Gytrash, but he kept kicking. But, Trekking gave a good fight, and he also kept kicking until the finish line where he emerged victorious, albeit by a narrow margin.

With this win, Godolphin continues to cement its place in the world of horse racing, and we should expect more from them in the future.
