Dubai, January 29, 2020: The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) today discussed strengthening cooperation with Elsevier, the global information analytics business specializing in science and health, to implement a standardized system for linking medical examinations.

Once implemented, the linkage system will facilitate obtaining original and sound medical examinations and circulate results to all public and private hospitals affiliated with the Ministry. 

The system will also promote healthcare services and facilitate readying medical information for patients as all information would be available online all the time.

During a meeting held on the side-lines of the 45th Arab Health taking place at Dubai World Trade Centre, Dr. Youssef Mohammed Al Serkal, Assistant Under-Secretary for the Hospitals Sector at the Ministry, discussed with Dr. Tim Hawkins, Managing Director, Clinical Solutions EMEALA, Elsevier, enhancing mutual cooperation to provide sophisticated solutions, improve the quality of healthcare services and strengthen healthcare technology management systems.

Dr. Kalthoum Al Baloushi, Director of MoHAP's Hospitals Administration, was present.
Al Serkal and Hawkins also addressed the possibility of training medical cadres (physicians and nurses) on the standardized system and highlighted the necessity of providing statistics and data analysis to monitor the extent of its effectiveness and usage by the medical staff. 

Al Serkal stressed that the Ministry of Health is working relentlessly to establish a digital health system characterized by efficiency, high-performance and reliability. “We are doing our best to provide patients with excellent treatment experience and comprehensive and innovative health services according to the highest quality standards,” the Under-Secretary added.

For her part, Dr. Kalthoom Al Balushi, Director of the Ministry's Hospitals Sector, said: “Our cooperation with Elsevier comes following the positive results achieved by similar systems launched earlier by the ministry”.

“This partnership will further support our efforts being made to develop its online services in line with its operational plans set to incorporate digital techniques into smart applications, which would eventually improve the quality and safety of healthcare provided,” added Al Balushi.
