Heritage village at Global Village offers a glimpse into Emirati traditions
Dubai, 13 October 2019: The Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center (HHC) offers pages of Emirati history in the form of a heritage village built annually at the Global Village, which is set to open on October 29 in Dubai.
Intended to portray the country’s rich customs and architectural tradition, each structure at HHC’s heritage village is designed to take visitors to a trip down the memory lane – where they can feel, smell, taste, live and learn more of the Emirati civilization.
From the smell of incense welcoming guests into the world of Arab hospitality to the traditional majlis, handicrafts and other fixtures and the daily workshops, everyone visiting the HHC heritage village can observe and immerse in the UAE cultural routine.
Ms Hind Bin Demaithan Al Qemzi, Director of Events at HHC, added that the heritage village is not just a cultural attraction but also a showcase of the UAE’s spirit of tolerance.
“A wide range of activities, including workshops and cultural events will be held to engage visitors from all segments of society, especially in the year of tolerance, to show the bonds of brotherhood and values of coexistence. This has always been the centerpiece of the HHC heritage village,” Al Qemzi explained.
She added that through the years the heritage village has witnessed a remarkable development and every edition offers better engagement. Currently, preparations are at its peak to make the heritage village ready for the expected thousands of visitors who will come from various parts of the UAE and across the globe.
Global Village is set to open on October 29. The 166 days-long 24th edition of the multicultural festival park will end on April 4, 2020.
