At the outset of the meeting, HE Waleed Bu Khatir welcomed the visiting delegation, expressing the SCCI’s aspirations that this meeting would be a new start towards wider prospects for economic cooperation between the UAE, in general, and Sharjah in particular with Tajikistan.

Bu Khatir highlighted the importance of paving the way for businessmen to explore possible cooperation prospects and the available investment opportunities on both sides. This would help enhance and deepen the bilateral and economic ties, thus reflected positively on the trade exchange volume between the two friendly countries.

“The Emirate of Sharjah has become a key economic hub in the region and also a destination to the global companies willing to penetrate the regional markets, thanks to Sharjah’s motivational investment climate and a competitive work environment under a developed legislative umbrella,” Bu Khatir noted.

This encouraging environment of the Emirate of Sharjah helps companies to develop their business and boost their revenues, as part of the Emirate’s vision to broaden the production base of its economy and to develop the non-oil exports.

Bu Khatir pointed to the great opportunities to promote the economic, trade and investment cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Emirate of Sharjah in various sectors, noting that the relationship between the Arab countries and Central Asia countries is a solid one at all levels. Such a relationship which is based on historical ties and solid culture that contributed to providing an important example of mutual work.

This support has many aspects such as providing all advantages and facilities, as well as offering advice to the businessmen and guiding them towards the most competitive sectors with high export capacity. In addition to providing all forms of logistic support to develop the commercial and economic relations between the UAE and Tajikistan.”

Al Awadi called on Tajik businessmen to take part in the international exhibitions organized by the Expo Centre Sharjah to promote their products and take advantage of the offered benefits.

The SCCI’s Director-General emphasized the chamber’s keenness on reinforcing the mutual cooperation between business communities in Sharjah and Tajikistan, thanks to the investment opportunities in both sides which can lead to the establishment of robust strategic partnerships.

Al Awadi expressed the hope that joint efforts will be made in the coming period, in order to witness the development of existing relations over the next few years, to reflect the keenness of the institutions working in the two countries to push the economic and investment cooperation to the best levels.
