Dubai, UAE, May 15, 2019:   DC Aviation Al-Futtaim (DCAF), a joint venture between Stuttgart-based DC Aviation GmbH and Dubai-based Al-Futtaim, has attained the International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling (IS-BAH) Stage 1 accreditation for its Fixed Base Operations (FBO) located at Dubai South.

IS-BAH is the global industry standard on safety management and risk mitigation for business aviation handlers and meets the forthcoming safety management system (SMS) requirements. The audit was conducted by an independent auditor from the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC).

DCAF successfully achieved compliance with the FBO’s emergency and security procedures, airside operations, organisational structure, training protocols and operating procedures and ground support equipment.

Commenting on the accreditation, Susan Bujtas, Director of Ground Operations at DC Aviation Al-Futtaim said, “The successful completion of the audit was a result of months of hard work from all the teams involved and the continuous support of the management. The accreditation is further testament to our unwavering commitment to provide our customers with globally benchmarked services.”

Terry Yeomans, Programme Director for the IS-BAH from IBAC, said, “I would like to congratulate the DC Aviation Al-Futtaim team for successfully completing the IS-BAH audit. The team have demonstrated a strong commitment to safety and meeting all the requirements for the IS-BAH.”

“Having the safety of their customers and team members close at heart, DC Aviation Al-Futtaim logically implemented the IS-BAH and successfully passed a Stage 1 audit.

It’s no small feat in itself but DC Aviation Al-Futtaim stands out for two reasons: first, they achieved this in a highly competitive environment; and second, their Safety Management System already showed signs that several of its elements were beyond the Stage 1 requirements and on the right track toward Stage 2. There’s only one thing I can say to the entire team, congratulations and keep up the excellent work,” said Stéphane De Wolf, Business Aviation ISBAH Auditor.
