ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates – 8 November 2018  – Schneider Electric, the leader in digital transformation of energy management and automation, announced today, ahead of ADIPEC, that it will highlight Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) digitization with the innovative Panorama Command Center for real-time insights on global operations.

ADNOC, by integrating 100,000 tags from 16 different operating companies, can monitor and optimize the performance of its assets and operations from its Abu Dhabi headquarters. ADNOC also has a standardized, automated way of managing the business by looking at current and future operations.

One of the biggest topics of discussion at ADIPEC is the Middle East energy sector’s digital transformation and adopting the Internet of Things. Globally, energy digitization could unlock USD 1.6 trillion in value to 2025,  according to the World Economic Forum .

“ADNOC’s Panorama Command demonstrates best practices in using digital transformation to bridge operational and information technology to enhance decision-making and embrace sustainable profits,” said Georges El Mir, Vice President – Oil, Gas, and Petrochemicals, Middle East and Africa, Schneider Electric, who will present on “How Oil & Gas Technology Investments Help Executives Secure Project Payback in a Low Commodity Price Environment” on Tuesday, 13 November at 11:00 am. “ADIPEC is a key platform to showcase how the UAE’s oil and gas firms are leading innovation.”

As Middle East and Africa oil and gas firms digitize their operations, the region’s Internet of Things spend will grow by 81 percent to USD 12.6 billion by 2021,  according to IDC .

At ADIPEC, Schneider Electric and AVEVA will highlight the enablement of digital transformation with the  EcoStruxure™ for Oil and Gas architecture  and EcoStruxure Power and Process solutions. EcoStruxure Power and Process can integrate seven layers across the project lifecycle.

“Middle East oil and gas firms can succeed in their digital transformation by connecting people and processes to improve profitability, time to completion, and reduce capex spending,” said Rob McGreevy, Head of Portfolio Management, AVEVA. “ADIPEC is a key event to highlight how EcoStruxure Power and Process can provide an holistic approach to reshape capex and opex models, change project management, and reduce risk.”

Schneider Electric will also showcase digital twins, Internet of Things-based asset management, and predictive maintenance, along with how Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality Immersive Training can ensure safe oil and gas operations. Schneider Electric will also highlight how artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and the Internet of Things can enhance operations.

“The next year, 2019, will be crucial for Middle East energy firms to accelerate their digital transformation and adopt the Internet of Things,” said Chris Dartnell, President, Oil, Gas, and Petrochemicals, Schneider Electric, who will present on “How the Right Architecture Enables the Digital Transformation for Oil and Gas and Petrochemicals” at the AVEVA stand on Tuesday, 13 November at 12:00 pm at the AVEVA Stand in Hall 14 – Stand #14380.

“As the oil and gas sector enters a new era of convergence between IT and OT, a digital architecture and platform can enable energy firms to run in real-time for delivering agile business models, exchanging workforce knowledge, and optimize production,” added Chris Dartnell.

In partnership with Microsoft, Schneider Electric will highlight the  Realift Rod Pump Control , which can provide an intelligent solution to bring a new level of fluid recovery and also reduce costs for oil and gas production in new and existing wells. By running Schneider Electric’s Realift Rod Pump Control on the Microsoft Azure cloud, oil and gas firms can gain Internet of Things-based predictive maintenance.
