Dubai, UAE, April 16, 2018:  Skyline University College organized the 3rd Economics Day event on April 9, 2018 at SUC Campus. During the event, SUC Macroeconomic students showcased their depth of economic knowledge on topical issues affecting the global economy through visuals, posters, and videos. This year’s theme focused on the global economy and the recently introduced VAT in UAE as the countdown to Dubai 2020 begins.

The event was graced by two leading business and financial experts in the world of global trade, Ms. Joy Ajlouny, Co-Founder of Fetchr and Ms. Divya Bhagtani, CEO and Co-Founder of Accountants Box.

Ms. Joy advised students to take risks, to constantly do research, and to never be afraid of failing. She also implored the young entrepreneurs and those in attendance to horn their skills and venture into business where sky is the limit.

Ms. Divya, on the other hand, provided expert advice on taxation where she described the various tax regimes and discussed the many attributes of VAT. VAT, she elaborated, is a fiscal instrument that the government uses to generate revenues that are used to provide and sustain the quality of life as enjoyed in UAE.

The event was inaugurated by SUC Dean, Dr. Amitabh Upadhya and Head of Quality Assurance, Dr. Sudhakar Kota. The annual Economics Day is organized and supervised by SUC Assistant Professor, Dr. Wilson Gachiri.
