Al Manhal, a Dubai based electronic publishing & distribution database of full-text searchable Arabic content, signed an agreement with Qatar National Library (QNL), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), through which over 14,000 new titles will be added to the QNL’s vast online resources, and offer the entire nation access to high-quality Arabic reference material on an unprecedented level.

This agreement comes as a an extension of previous agreements that Al Manhal has signed locally in the UAE with various educational institutions and libraries as part of its mission  to spread knowledge, nurture imagination, cultivate creativity, and preserve the nation’s heritage for the future. These agreements include: Abu Dhabi Education Council, Abu Dhabi University, Al Ghurair University, Community Development Authority, Dubai Public Library, Emirates Canadian University College, Telecommunication Regulatory Authority and University of Sharjah.

Al Manhal’s collections will include different subjects such as Business and Economics, Educational Science, Islamic Studies, Social Sciences, Language & Literature, Law, Political Science & International Relations, History, Geography & Biography, Contemporary References, Heritage, Media and Communication, Arts & Sciences and School 6-12.

“Al Manhal understands the new direction in the region to build a strong knowledge-based economy through digital education and research. We are extremely proud to have been chosen by QNL to be the primary provider of digital Arabic scholarly materials which comes after we have been delivering this content to many Arab students worldwide. With this agreement, students, researchers and the academic and professional community across the country will have unlimited access to Al Manhal’s multi-disciplinary databases of tens of thousands of full-text searchable Arabic eBooks, eJournals, eTheses, eReports, and heritage titles,” said Mohamad Al-Baghdadi, CEO of Al Manhal.

QNL aims to promote a culture of excellence in Qatar and further its role in supporting an innovative and open society that aspires to develop sustainable human capacity for a knowledge-based economy and has found Al Manhal to be a cutting edge tool to do so. Al Manhal is the world’s only provider of full-text searchable databases of thousands of eBooks, eJournals, eTheses, strategic reports, and conference proceedings from the Arab World.
