The MED Evaporators  are the biggest of their kind in the world to ever be constructed in a shop/yard & shipped to the project site

SHARJAH- JULY 20,  2015: With the shipment of the 3rd Multi Effect Distillation (MED) Evaporator to Kuwait, Hamriyah Free Zone-based Quality International has successfully crossed the half-way mark in the execution of its prestigious order from SIDEM, France for the construction & delivery of a total of 6 MED Evaporators for the Az-Zour North Independent Water and Power Project in Kuwait.

 These MED Evaporators – 54 m long x 33 m wide x 17 m tall and weighing 2750 MT each, are the biggest of their kind in the world to ever be constructed in a shop/yard & shipped to the project site.

 “A logistical challenge in itself, this could only be achieved due to the availability of Quality International’s large water front facility at Phase I of Hamriyah Free Zone, Sharjah, UAE”, says Shashi Ramakrishnan, founder and managing director of Quality International.

 “With successful completion of such large units, Quality International has further consolidated its position as a leading manufacturer of high metallurgy (duplex stainless steel, titanium) & critical equipment / modules globally,” Ramakrishnan added.

He  added that a world-class infrastructure of Hamriyah Free Zone coupled with the proactive and positive approach of its officials   was instrumental in not only the setting up of this unit but also the undertaking & delivering such a large and complex project.

On the occasion, Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of Hamriayh Free Zone Authority (HFZA) and Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF Zone) said:   “It is  always our goal to provide the best facilities and services to our investors. Quality International’s latest project is a milestone for HFZA and I wish all the best for Quality International and its future endeavors”  

Meanwhile, Ramakrishnan  acknowledged that this challenging project offered an enriching experience to its team of over 1750 strong skilled workforce, lending insight into areas ranging from supply chain management to logistics to innovative manufacturing and critical inspection techniques. He also acknowledged the immense contributions made by all the stakeholders without whose support the herculean task could not be completed.
